My dog hasn’t eaten anything for days and I’ve tried everything. He stopped eating his chicken and soft food, he won’t eat any vegetables that I try to give him, he’ll barely lick peanut butter, and refuses to have treats. I’m literally trying to feed him bacon at this point, but I don’t think it’s gonna do anything. He’s 15 and my dad is saying he’s probably dying. This has all progress over a week.

Give him water, comfort, and most importantly, love.

If you can slip in some pain meds in the peanut butter it might make things easier on your dog who is likely in pain.

So sorry to hear this. Yeah, refusing to eat is often a sign that they’re near their time. It’s difficult, but try to make the most out of whatever time you’ve got.

Im so sorry to hear this. Be there for your dog as much as you can. Make him comfortable and as happy as can be. You are his whole world, his best friend. His final moments should be spent close with you, feeling your love and care.

Im tearing up just thinking about my two pups, and how much pain that would cause me

Cause the vet said the same thing as my dad, it probably getting close to time, but he said that before he stopped eating.

Then you need to talk to a second vet. They’re right, he’s an old dog and probably toast, but at the very least you should help him be comfortable, whether that’s putting him down or just painkillers.

This is one of the hardest things to go through and I am sorry you are having to go through it. Just know that the love you gave was the most important thing in the world to your dog.

Check it’s teeth, might be inflammation or something. My cat suddenly did not eat. Had to have a tooth removed and is other teeth cleaned. After getting the checkup and pain killers started eating again.
