Good thing red states have all just passed special legislation allowing minors to work shifts at meat processing plants, so these kids will at least have employment waiting for them when if they can avoid being sex trafficked by ICE agents.

Just so you know, all 50 states allow child labor at 14, and California the age is 12 for agricultural work, 14 otherwise.

Not that it makes what red states are doing any better.

Unaccompanied minors, as well as the despicable Title 42 separation and deportation of adults while detaining minors, are the result of revising immigration policy in 2019. The goal was to protect minors from deportation, but it’s clearly become problematic.

Since the pandemic, immigration has changed drastically. Comprehensive reform is necessary.

The last time the US had comprehensive immigration reform was in 1986, under Reagan, with a Republican Senate. It is what primarily what dictates immigration policy.

It has resulted in child labor violations skyrocketing.
