i am in shambles - I bought two Weatherproof Vintage short sleeve men’s linen button down shirts last month from Costco, they were like $15 each, thinking little of it, oh these are probably going to be ok, normal big box store shirts.

but I’ve worn them, and slowly realized: these are the best shirts I’ve ever worn. they’re comfortable, they fit perfectly, they feel absolutely perfect, the linen is perfectly breathable and feels perfect on my skin, they look very summery and nice, I’ve never enjoyed a shirt more than these shirts.

So I want more than the pink and blue that I bought, because that’s only 2 days of the week. I go to the official website and the shirts start at $60. I am wrecked. I should’ve bought 15 of them at the store.

Costco themselves have a few left online, but only in obscure sizes and ugly colors. I am in shambles.

I see these going for $30 at Macys, Walmart, and Nordstrom Rack USA websites right now in multiple styles.

You can also try asking the Costco manager if they will be reordering the SKU, couldn’t hurt lol.

Yeah, I just did a quick Google Shopping search and found quite a few for cheaper than $60, if you hunt a little.

Sometimes you just have to pay for quality. You can calculate the price-per-wear which might take the sting out. A high quality linen shirt will last forever.

My closet is random tops that are L, LT, XL, XL Slim fit, XLT Slim, etc. When buying off the rack, the fit is always so random! So much so that when something fits well I buy a few more just in case I like them, provided the store has a generous return policy.

This all reminds me of my favorite shirt: a black v-neck with shallow vertical ribbing that I found at Kohls on clearance ten years ago. The texture is so soft and interesting, everyone’s first instinct is to feel the fabric. I have four that I’ve collected over the years shopping Kohls clearance in-store as I travel for work, and another that was gifted from my uncle. We were at a funeral and I had a bit of a moment when I saw it on him. He gave it to me a week later. Love you, Uncle!
