Just to start off, I absolutely love this mouse for these reasons:

  • I love the led style (it’s enough, and not obnoxious)
  • Material of the mouse itself + material of side grips (for thumb and pinky)
  • 3 buttons on the side; I don’t want more than like 4, and I like how my thumb isn’t resting on the buttons normally
  • Sleek design, and it’s small-ish size and arch is perfect for my small hands

Rival 650 wireless

My only issue is that it randomly disconnects (wirelessly) and then reconnects, maybe once every 3 days. I use the 2.4ghz dongle, not bluetooth. I had already went through troubleshooting with support who gave me a new dongle. My dongle is maybe 5 feet from the mouse, on top of my tower

Some pics

Preferably, I would also like a mouse with more battery life, I feel like if I don’t charge it overnight then it’ll run out of battery, so I plug it in every night (which isn’t the end of the world, but a minor annoyance)

I know wireless devices won’t be perfect, but I can’t stand feeling the cable (or seeing it even, I know they make bungees) so I can’t go back. Are my occasional disconnects going to always happen no matter what mouse I get? I would love to see some recommendations if you guys have a mouse you think I would like that almost never has issues

Maybe the Logitech G502 X? It has the 3 buttons and I feel like the shape of the Rival 65 is pretty close to the G502 but would need to check. I also wouldn’t consider either of those to be small mice.

Are you palm grip or a very relaxed claw? I can’t quite tell from the photo. Hand measurements would help as well. With that info (and a little coffee for me) I’ll try to give a better recommendation.

Edit: if you’re willing to use a mouse with two side buttons instead of three you have a ton more options and we can start looking at some lighter weight mice.

I think I definitely have more of a relaxed claw, I used to have a suuuuuper bad claw grip but it got slightly better over the years

I use all 3 for a lot of games, so going down to 2 would be tough. It would probably have to have a lot of perks to make up for that

Oh, I forgot to mention that I love heavy mice, at least right now. Maybe because it being heavy makes it feel more premium and so less cheap? So I have a lot of weights put in this mouse

Would you be ok with a joystick and 2 buttons?

If so you might look at the asus rog chakram

I will also tell you in advance any game that focuses on the 1st controller it sees will have problems with this mouse (you can unplug the dongle launch a game then plug it in to get around thag but I wanted to warn you as while I love the mouse it can be annoying to deal with it’s quirks

I’m honestly not sure. I know my pickiness is making this really difficult and I might have to comparomise somewhere, but I’m not a fan of the asus chakram design that much. I’m hoping to get away from annoying quirks anyways, so maybe it wouldn’t be for me either lol
