A lot of the moderators are/were quite abusive and unbalanced in the way they handled their unearned “power.” Not only do a lot of the users not care, many are probably happy about it in the same way many of you were happy when subs were banned and those users left reddit. Reddit has been terrible for years now. The users who are currently leaving due to moral issues with the site are the same users that constantly have moral issues with everything and constantly complain about everything and try to police everyone else. While I no ;onger like reddit and will be happy to see it fail, I can’t see the removal of long term moderators and the mass migration of the loudest complainers of the site as anything but a positive for the overall experience of the average user there over the long-term. It’s inconvenient now, but that will not last. When things resettle without legacy powermods and the overwhelming voice of the pearl-clutching, concern-troll users…I can’t see that as being anything but a net gain for the average user. So not only do they not give a fuck, but to the extent they do, they’re probably quite happy to have you gone.
There have been multiple mass migrations away from reddit at this point. The site keeps going, the people still there are glad the others left, and those leaving are the only ones who view their departure as a significant event.
You have much more faith than me that the layuser gives a fuck about any of this.
When content creators go, there will be no content left. The average user rarely posts and when they do its nothing worth reading.
