Whenever I accidentally scroll too far left or right in Firefox, it goes back or forth in my history, which is very annoying. How could I disable this?
I have this behavior on desktop specifically on the laptop trackpad’s 2finger swipe gesture, which seems to be used for both scrolling as well as back/forward. I do not have this behavior on other input devices’ methods for scrolling (e.g. mouse wheel horizontal scroll).
You can disable the touchpad gestures via about:config: https://www.instructables.com/Customizing-multitouch-gestures-in-Firefox/
Thanks, that fixed it indeed!
You mean on firefox mobile?
I don’t know about the history, but on firefox mobile there is a setting to let you switch from one tab to another when sliding left or right. Maybe you are speaking of that? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-gestures-in-firefox-android#w_switch-tabs-by-swiping-the-address-bar
I honestly have no idea what they’re talking about. Neither desktop nor mobile have this behavior. Maybe he’s talking about the Android gesture that replaced the back button when they removed the bottom buttons?
