Yes, I know browser bookmarks exist. But there must be some native functionality that I keep just not noticing - right?

    Hey, no problems!

Lemmy is a server application that, like kbin, communicates through something called ActivityPub to all other federated servers. When People refer to Lemmy they are refering to an server (instance or node) running the Lemmy software. There are multiple looks for Lemmy called front-ends, which is the fancy term for another piece of software that can interact with a Lemmy server application.

    To roll everything up:

(Lemmy Website/kbin Website) communicates with one (Lemmy Server/kbin Server) which communicates using ActivityPub to a known (list of multiple servers running Lemmy or Kbin or Mastodon and more)

On Lemmy servers this list is accessible through https://lemmy.server.example/instances.

PS: I’m currently replying to you from a lovely lemmy instance on the server discuss.tchncs.de
