I wanted to include links to other related communities in this community. I was trying to come up with terms for all these related relationship types, and then I remembered that this venn existed. I’ve seen numerous versions of this previously. This one happens to come from (https://polyadvisor.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/nonmonogamy3-large-768x512.png) or REALLY ENORMOUS (https://www.xeromag.com/sexualinformatics/nonmonogamy2.5.2.gif) See, I even credited my source. :-D
Cool, what term would you use to describe this diagram?
e.g. the religious one only intersects with unicorn….
bunch of overlapping rectangles….
a venn diagram shows all possible intersections within groups… and is kinda pointless past 4….
this one seems to be just intentionally over complicating things for entertainment
I was going to correct you but you’re actually right. The term for this is a Euler diagram. I think they’re more useful.
oh nice, my “logic for math and science majors” class didn’t cover those…
Yes, of course!! Again TY!
I’m pretty sure “intentionally over complicating things for entertainment” overlaps significantly with most forms of “Non-monogamy”, and with “the human experience”. ;-) The pertinent question is, which of these rectangles/ explanatory examples fits for a given person, and which one’s don’t? I believe this diagram was developed to help us understand where we fit in the poly-schema we’ve developed.
no… it’s completely useless for explaining anything…
like, see how religious non monogamy doesn’t overlap with commerce?
the point of a venmo diagram is to visually represent if there’s something in that overlap or not.
it’s basically satire of a venn diagram….
Umm, I’m just the messenger. Wanna see if you can talk with Franklin, the author? I linked his blog.
