What denomination is this church, or does it label itself as non-denominational?
This movement is now increasingly involved in electoral politics, advocating for conservative social and political policies based on literal interpretations of the Bible.
Just to clarify: they’re arguing that these are literal interpretations of the Bible. What they’re really doing is taking literal reads of specific passages of the Bible from a selected translation.
They’re ignoring other passages that are meant to be taken literally, like “let he who is without sin cast the first stone,” “love your enemy as yourself, do good to those who hate you,” and “love The Lord your god with all your heart, mind, soul and strength, and love your neighbour as yourself.”
And who is your neighbour? Well, for that, Jesus told a parable; you might know of it, about a good Samaritan (also known as the parable of the hypocritic religious leaders). If you wanted a social equivalent to Samaritan today, you might replace them with a Trans person.

Anything with religion deserves no say in politics.
And vice versa. Gotta keep ‘em separated.
