The RNC claims it is recruiting an army of 100,000 poll observers who could provide significant disruption during voting and counting.

Here’s one of the more insidious parts of this: the situation is structurally in their favor.

• If the “observer” interferes with the count, they succeed.
• If the “observer” tries to interfere with the count and is stopped, they claim the “disruption” casts doubt on the vote and succeed.
• If the “observer” is somehow preemptively stopped from doing either of those things and removed, they claim the removal is evidence that poll workers are trying to hide fraud and succeed.
