USS Pennsylvania (SSBN 735) is the 10th submarine of the Ohio class of ballistic missile submarines (SSBNs), and the fourth U.S. Navy ship to bear the name.

The keel of Pennsylvania was laid on Jan. 10, 1984, and she was christened on April 23, 1988 by Mrs. Marilyn Garrett, wife of Under Secretary of the Navy H. Lawrence Garrett III. Pennsylvania was commissioned on Sept. 9, 1989 at Groton, Conn., with Capt. Richard M. Camp (Blue Crew) and Capt. A. Lee Edwards (Gold Crew) in command.

Pennsylvania spent the first 13 years of her service life based at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Ga., before shifting her homeport to Naval Submarine Base Bangor, Wash., in October 2002. Following her 50th patrol in July 2005, Pennsylvania was honored by U.S. Strategic Command (STRATCOM) as the recipient of the 2004 Omaha Trophy for excellence in strategic deterrence.

In August 2012, Pennsylvania completed a 32-month engineered refueling overhaul at Pugent Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, successfully finishing sea trials on Sept. 19, 2012. Pennsylvania rejoined Submarine Squadron (SUBRON) 17 in a crew split ceremony on Nov. 17, 2012.
