My first post here - A Midnight Cooking Disaster
Last night was one for the books. After a really long, exhausting day, I found myself feeling hungry around midnight. I was tired but thought I could handle cooking up something simple—boiled eggs. Low efforts, right?
I set the egg to boil and unfortunately, crashed on my bed while waiting for them to be ready.
Fast forward four hours, I wake up to the smell of something burning and a light haze of smoke in my home. I bolted to the kitchen only to find my stainless steel pot still on the stove, the egg…cooked is an understatement.
Luckily, nothing caught fire. I quickly turned off the gas and opened all the windows to air out the place. Took a breather outside, letting the house clear out.
Not gonna lie, the whole thing shook me up a bit. I can’t help but wonder what might have happened if I’d woken up any later.
TL;DR: Fell asleep while boiling an egg, woke up to a smoky kitchen and a strong burnt smell.
