News going over California’s new bill to require lack of ownership of digital media (including video games) to be labeled that’s kind of a mess + a small victory of the stop killing games campaign.

    All that means is what Bandai already does with their games, the copyright notice at the start of the game (or in the options menu) includes a line saying something to the effect of (we reserve the right to terminate this game as a digital service at any time.)

      Yeah and it fucking sucks. It’s not even like a rental; it’s an unspecified and finite amount of time and then your purchase is nothing.

      I’m pretty sure I remember like my PS1 games having a disclaimer on the cases that you’re buying a single license and not a physical product or whatever. I’m guessing back then the concern was about having to warranty scratched up discs tho maybe
