The panel found ā€œnumerous mistakesā€Ā and ā€œspecific failuresā€ by the agency and warned that ā€œanother Butler can and will happen againā€ unless ā€œfundamental reformā€œ is enacted.

An independent, bipartisan review identified ā€œnumerous mistakesā€Ā by the Secret Service and ā€œspecific failures and breakdownsā€ that enabled the assassination attempt that injured former President Donald Trump in Butler, Pa., in July.

The panel, made up of four former senior law enforcement and government officials, also warned ofĀ another catastrophic security lapseĀ if the Secret Service does not immediately undertake ā€œfundamental reform.ā€

ā€œThe Secret Service has become bureaucratic, complacent, and static,ā€Ā the panel wrote in a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who overseesĀ the organization.

Heā€™s not the acting president, he gets the B team. If Trump wasnā€™t such a toxic piece of shit the B team should have been enough. You want to be trash Trump, then hire your own security and pay with your own money.

Yeah, as a tax payer I hate to see my tax dollars go to ever increasing security for this man looking to take away our freedoms and crush minorities and vulnerable people. He spews outright lies that are hurting people all over the country and we are supposed to just pay to keep his hate speech toxic verbal diarrhea mouth safe so he can possibly be elevated to a position to amplify his harm to the country and itā€™s citizens.

      Itā€™s fucking insane and infuriating.

Yeah, thereā€™s a big difference in protecting Obama or Bill Clinton who are retired statesman living peaceful lives and Trump who has been rallying for the last decade. How much protection is he really entitled to? Especially considering his rhetoric is motivating his would be assassins.
