I’ve seen attempts at this (not for video games specifically but beauty standards in general) and the incelsphere response is that women are valued for their visual signifiers of fertility whereas men are valued for their ability to provide security and resources. But of course that doesn’t explain why they are so hyperfocused on their own looks and how it ranks up to other males.
