Peas are 5.42% protein by weight. See: https://fdc.nal.usda.gov/fdc-app.html#/food-details/2345317/nutrients

A young adult male weighing 80kg puts on muscle fastest when consuming 32g of protein a day. See: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25056502/

Consequently, if they were eating nothing but peas, they would need to consume 590g of peas a day, or 1.3 lbs of peas. That might sound like a lot but how much does all the food you eat in a day weigh? And keep in mind, this is a body builder trying to absolutely optimize hypertrophy. A normal person would not eat this much protein for any valid nutritional reason.

If they were eating nothing but potatoes, they would need to consume 1.7kg, but if they were eating edamame they would need to eat only 280g a day, to provide all the protein a young 80kg man can possibly use to convert to muscle.

And you know what? I enjoy eating. There is not one goddamn person in a hundred who is angry about how much time they are spending eating.

This is the sort of joke a person tells not because it’s especially funny or meaningful, but because they feel threatened. Passing stuff like this around is a way of cultivating willful ignorance. Stupidity isn’t an intellectual failing, it is a moral failing.

Learn some awesome stuff about peas.

Trust me, l dont care one way or another. You could easily use the same meme and say “Meat eater explaining how they must eat a whole chicken each day to feel healthy” or something similar. Im just lazy and just copied the meme from somewhere else.

If yoh are vegan more power to you.

Another awesome fact about peas. Exactly 0% of professional body builders built their muscles with peas.

      0% of Olympic athletes.

Yet almost universally every professional athlete ate meat and or milk protein. You maybe will find one or two lying saying they’ve been life long vegans.

Those numbers you gave are bs. At best they are minimal amounts to avoid starvation.

Humans don’t absorb pea protein as good as animal protein anyways so you would have to crank those numbers up to even prevent muscle loss
