It’s especially tailored for recreating common designs like leaflets, artsy resumes, quick video presentations, etc. It doesn’t require much technical knowledge and kind of walks you through it. It integrates everything well from easy templates, a vast library of shapes, a friendly/focused interface, and has many functions for common tasks. This is not an ad–it’s literally what they do. lol If you know of any OSS that does all this, I’d love to hear it.
Yes, you could do that all with the classic Photoshop/Photopea/Gimp but it won’t be fast, you’ll need to learn it first, it won’t be convenient, it might not be free (unless?.. 🏴☠️🦜) and you’re likely starting from scratch.

Anyway, thanks for explaining Canva. I assumed it was just an image editor. That does seem to fill a niche. Still lame that a circle is an upsell but I can see the appeal of the app.

This makes some people spooked so they neurotically second guess every comment that sounds slightly off. Its hard to tell organic farm fresh human trash vs GMO LLM trash unless youve spoken with enough language models to know the subtle quirks. Also this is lemmy so yeah LLM bad
