All the digital nomads in NZ already do this. It’s not like the government watches what you’re doing on your laptop while you’re in the country.
It’s still illegal and you could be refused entry if you say you’re gonna remote work on a tourism visa.
Wat? They weren’t allowed to work while traveling before?
My understanding is that this is the case for most places actually. Think about it: you can’t just go to a country on a tourism visa and work there. The reason it’s “allowed” is because it’s virtually impossible to enforce for remote work. So don’t go over-sharing with authorities, or you’ll get into trouble. If they ask you what you’re here for at the immigration, you are there for the piña coladas.
