Hey Mods, if Hitler was President would you censor anything calling to rise up and harm him too before or after The Holocaust? Just asking questions here.

Just to note this is also direction from the admin team on .world. Until significant push back, jury nullification wasn’t permitted to be mentioned (despite precedence of its legality), as well as a rule to allow all opinions, regardless of the rules of the community. This was also pushed back on, and will be back after they re-word it.

          This is .world at large.

          Edit: typo

I’m kind of a Lemmy noob. I just realized I have a .world after my name. How do I move and where do you suggest?

Depends on what you’re looking for in a server tbh. And there are others who would probably be more familiar than me.

db0 (instance I’m on) is great for F/LOSS, piracy, anarchism/leftists, lemm.ee for a generalist instance, blahaj for a fantastic queer community and firmly moderated safe space, etc.

You can export where youre subscribed, but your history won’t move. So feel free to just make an account somewhere if it piques your interest, and go from there

Edit: Somehow missed a solid 2/3 of what I was saying about db0

A better question to ask is “what are the laws surrounding direct threats of targeted violence in my nation and in the nation where the servers are?”

No instance owner should have to deal with harassment from the state because of a rando’s comments.

Would you like to pay to move the server to a country with free speech laws or do you just expect the people paying for the server you are using free of charge to do that on your behalf?

The lemmy.world mods are notorious bootlickers and delete any comment that insinuates that people should rise up against Trump.

Because that’s a lie. The server is based in the Netherlands. It is illegal in the Netherlands to call for violence. What gets deleted are calls for violence.

A very quick glance at the modlog will show that comments merely saying people should rise up against Trump are not in there.

Yes, very droll. Now as I asked someone else complaining about this, are you going to pay to have the server you are being allowed to use for free to be moved to a country where it is legal to call for violence?

I’m not complaining about it. I just thought it was an odd statement. I couldn’t care less about .world

It’s a statement about having to comply to the law of the nation the server is in.

And it’s in a part of the world with lots of successful nonviolent uprisings, so I’m not even sure that it’s all that odd.

Yes, dissent is healthy and important. That’s my point. Have you looked at what dubvee.org is doing?

They scan the fediverse for comments that violate whatever code they claim to enforce. Then they instance ban those offenders from their instance and all of their subs. Then they tag that user in their ban of shame wall.

For example, I am tagged there as banned for something like “advocating assassination” like 8 months ago. And I had no idea they were even doing this.

This was long before the whole Luigi thing. And before both Trump assassination attempts.

I can’t even tell what comment I made that would justify them to slander me in such a way. Because they never told me.

Go ahead and look up my username in their ban log over there, see if you can figure it out. Maybe look up your own username. You might be surprised to find out what they are saying about you.

They are either the SRS of Lemmy, or some truthsocial data collection operation.
