Yeah except that for previous generations not “winning” wasn’t an inherent global existential threat.

It’s been that way at least ever since the invention of the atom bomb.

So, yeah a global existential threat has been there for going on 80 years. And that one is quite obvious. And climate change was in the news for over 110 years, if you can believe it.
