A Certain Scientific Railgun. I think the characters are cool, the worldbuilding is interesting, and the story is captivating. Season 3 is such a great adaptation imo.

Same I’m actually surprised that anime got mentioned here since I seldom see it randomly. I personally like the amount of detail it gives to each plot and how aptly it uncovers each of those details slowly. I also find the balance and shift between SoL and darker themes just right.

Ooh. That’s a tough one. There’s too many to choose from that I can’t really make a choice.

Off the top of my head, I really like:

    RE:Zero

Berserk (The good one not the shitty 2016 one)

    Demon Slayer

    Spy X Family

    Steins;Gate

I’ll probably end up thinking of more right after I hit post, rofl.

Arpeggio of blue steel and girls und panzer just have me coming back all the time because they’re easy to just pick up and binge again even if I’m not 100% focused.

I also really love Gate, because it’s literally just off the walls imperialist military propaganda.

I think Accel World will always have a special place in my heart, it’s my first real anime, and certainly the one I have watched the most.

However, I absolutely love How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom, the first season of that is pure gold, the second season is definitely lacking though.

The novel for How a Realistic Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom is also great, the anime does a good job staying true to the source material

I absolutely love Girls’ Last Tour! There’s just something very endearing about watching the two main characters, Chito and Yuuri, trying their best to make the most out of living in a post-post-post-apocalyptic brutalist cityscape. The atmosphere is utterly phenomenal, and the worldbuilding is great.

Gundam 00. It’s the show that got me into anime in proper. Before then I was already playing games from Japan like Pokemon, Megaman, etc. and getting off to related lolis (Mayl from EXE <3). But 00 was the first show I got into without any extrinsic motivators, and it’s been my anchor show that every other show I’ve since watched compares to, at least to some subconscious degree.

    So while I don’t think it’s objectively outstanding within the franchise, let alone the entirety of anime, I love it to pieces. It just checks all my checkboxes because it made most of them in the first place. ^_^;;

    Top rated for me

Series that got me into anime in the first place:

    • Fullmetal Alchemist (and Brotherhood), a great introduction to anime with a fantasy world and awesome cast
    • Outlaw Star, like Cowboy Bebop but a bit less popular

Series I loved at the time:

    • Akame ga Kill, dark fantasy with a great cast
    • Angel Beats, a feel good series featuring lots of great characters
    • Steins;Gate, sci-fi with fate and cute characters
    • Attack on Titan, action action action - but I only watched the first season because after that I heard it got kinda bad
    • Re:Zero, where I met my waifu Rem
    • No Game No Life, lolis furries and Mecha girls, what more could you ask for

My favorite movies are from Studio Ghibli:

    • Howl’s Moving Castle, fantasy and love twirled into a great story
    • Spirited Away, a coming of age story about becoming self reliant

    But I also really loved:

    • Your Name, best fate love story of all time

It’s probably Free! Iwatobi Swim Club series. Specially the second season and the High Speed movie. It holds a special place in my heart because it’s one of the anime that really got me into the otaku world over ten years ago. People make a lot of fun of it because it’s considered cringe and bad, but for me it’s fun and entertaining enough.
