I personally do not make poured over coffee so take what I say with a grain of salt.

I went on a less plastic, and approaching zero wast, movement and this lead me to French pressing my coffee as there is no disposable parts.

I use quite a few methods for making coffee, including metal filters (pour over, french press, etc.).

One thing to note is that paper filters absorb the oils and very fine sediments, where metal filters do not. This can change the coffee’s profile quite a bit, so it’s down to personal preference for the most part.

That said, if you’ve used paper filters and can switch to reusable, metal screens, then it’s going to be better in the long-run.
