Going to the search feature doesn’t seem to yield any results when I search for things. Ex: I want to find Disney instances, but typing in ‘Disney’ in the search field provides no results.

I am on an instance that is at version 0.18.

Any help is appreciated!!

For me at least jerboa isn’t really functional for searching for new communities, let alone instances. You’re better off in your mobile browser. And even then you’ll only find instances that are already federated with your home instance (meaning someone on you home instance will have had to search and subscribe to one of the communities on the instance you’re trying to find). Your best bet for finding instances is actually outside websites like https://join-lemmy.org/instances or other websites dedicated to listing and sorting instances.

Thank you! Honestly I thought I was doing something wrong, but with yours and the other person’s response, seems Jerboa is there yet, which, I mean, is totally fine. This is all relatively new. Got spoiled with RiF (RIP). Anyway, I appreciate your response!

    • Go to Lemmyverse.net
    • Click the “home” icon in the upper right and designate your home instance.
    • Search communities.
    • Click the links for the communities you like and they will open in your home instance.
    • Subscribe to them.
    • Return to Jerboa.
    • Profit.
