    While 4k is high enough resolution that unless the screen is huge or you’re using no anti-aliasing, you more than likely won’t be able to tell the difference, so resolutions haven’t really changed in the past term years, Dolby Vision (2014) and HDR10 (2015) have been introduced into consumer products as colour banding and low brightness range are far more noticeable and so it makes much more sense to fix those problems than just increase a number beyond what people can even benefit from.
