We are cursed with the knowledge that those butterflys are drawn like they are dead and prepared for taxidermy.
I wasn’t, but now I’ll look it up. Edit: is it the angle of the wings? From comparing pictures it looks like when they are alive their wings are closer to their body but I’m not sure.
