TModLoader is as official as we can get. Re-Logic supports them and on the official monthly news about the game, TModLoader is always mentioned and the devs, that work on TModLoader talk about what they’ve done. There’s no point in changing the game to support modding, when there’s already a separate and free app to do it.
What other cloud saves would you want?
Crossplay is coming… at some point. They’ve been working on it for a long time and getting decently close, I think, I don’t remember exactly. Should come out in the future though.

A Poochie mode where you play as Poochie; whenever you are not on screen all the NPCs ask “where’s Poochie?” /s

Cool. So those features aren’t implemented yet. Those are the features you would expect this game to have by now.
