There’s a Burmese word for this - “katsight” (probably a bad spelling of it). It denotes an era of bad kings war strife disasters and diseases. They sort of expect these things, accept the era for what it is, that it must be endured, and survived. Acceptance doesn’t mean kowtowing to the junta, as there is rebellion all over the country.
