Results of an election for parent governor representatives for Overview and Scrutiny Committee - In March 2025, we wrote to all parent governors of schools we maintain, seeking nominations for 2 parent governor representative posts on the Children’s Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

The closing date was 8 April 2025, and 4 nominations were received from maintained school representatives. One nominee subsequently withdrew, an election was held, and the candidates polling the highest votes were elected.

Therefore, the Monitoring Officer has declared that the following candidates will be appointed as parent governor representatives on the Children’s Services Overview and Scrutiny Committee:

Jenny James and Shamina Rushton-Cato (maintained school representatives) will take up their posts in May 2025 and be duly elected to serve for the period of office up to April 2027 or until they resign or cease to be eligible to be parent governor representatives if that is sooner.
