I thought I liked how the RCMP operates, but following this missing child investigation out east makes me really worried for their ability to do any sort of police work compotently. They are supposed to be the specialists but it seems like they have no idea how to do a investigation. I’m hoping they just drop a massive dump with all the incriminating evidence you would want but doesn’t seem likely.

It either needs better oversight, or make it smaller and offload some to the province’s / regions. I like the idea of national specialists for these high profile things though, but doesn’t seem to be how current RCMP operate.

Indigenous police forces is probably something that has should have existed for a long time now. From what I see a softer police presence with more social supports is needed everywhere.
