      I think that was true for the 19 90s. But now we have so many fly-by wire systems, it seems like a marginal addition

    It’s because then those making all the monies will no longer be making the monies, so they campaigned and lobbied to continue making the monies. They may have also initiated certain death orders on those involved. Whether or not they were successful is presently irrelevant because they continue to be the ones making the monies.
