Did anyone catch it? As a German I’m glad we won of course but I’m not sure myself about the decision to keep the game going after Emma Snerle got friendly-fired in the face. I hope it’s not as bad as it looked yesterday. She seemed really distraught.

The German team did nothing wrong. The referee on the other hand……

Makes me want to look up to see if it was the same ref as the one in England v France

Yeah that’s what makes it tricky for me. She would have had to sound the whistle right as Snerle dropped but she saw it too late. Plus the Danes were down another player because the girl who had fired that cannonball was understandably frozen in shock.

But then again reverting the decision would have been harsh since like you said our team wasn’t responsible for any of it. Just a tough situation but tbh one that has left an aftertaste when I think about the final result and the half vacant, half scared look on Emma Snerle’s face as she was dragged away.

But I do think it was an honest mistake on the ref’s part. She seemed overall competent and impartial to me apart from that incident.

While Germany managed to pull off a win, I am not convinced they will return as title winners any time soon. Spain look so much more composed and even France seem to have finally settled.
