    Don’t like Flatpak? This blog post is long enough already, so I’ll ask you to just make a leap of faith and accept that Flatpak is cool. Notably, Flatpak applications that keep their bundled dependencies updated and do not subvert the sandbox are muchsafer to use than traditional distro-packaged applications.

    This is what the argument for flatpak is? That flatpak maintainers will keep dependencies updated?

    The whole point of flatpak seems designed to keep older dependencies that are insecure and not have to deal with newer packages that break the app.

    Flatpaks not safer at all, and they take away power from the operating system to protect its users.
