Yes, the site with the famously bad search is going to be the place to search.
Why fix your search program when Google will just archive everything and do a better job indexing content for searching?
And pay you for users’ data in the process.

Reddit’s search was google. Now google sucks and reddit thinks it can replace it. No way, reddits search sucks and its quality has significantly declined
