Hi, I’ve accepted for a while (2 years when I bought the new GPU) that my PC was probably bottlenecking from my CPU. however thought I’d have a look at the usages and temps to see what was actually true.

Specs:

GPU: Red Dragon AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600

Motherboard: ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING

RAM: 16gb 3000 mhz

Storage: M.2 2TB

Temps were running high, since fixed that by cleaning case & fans gaming temp is about 60-70

RAM was configured at 2133Mhz, changed in BIOS to supported 3000Mhz - for 5 years it was on 2133 lol

I have done a clean install & upgrade onto Windows 11

GPU drivers are up to date

I heard that having SAM enabled in AMD adrenalin could be an issue, however it was already disabled

Only thing I have really noticed an effect with is the temp running lower, as it was thermal throttling however it still hasn’t fixed the lack of performance and or frame drops.

The main thing for me is when I try and run Warframe on high, GPU usage is on 100% and frames drop from 114 to 30 or 50. I would of expected this GPU to run this on a breeze (with maybe higher fps) but it doesn’t seem to be the case.

I was looking at upgrading the CPU, Motherboard, Ram to AM5 but in most games I see the GPU at 100% and cpu at a nice 30-50% which indicates to me it’s the GPU struggling not my CPU?

Is it worth running a benchmark tool?

any advice would be great, i’ve spent the past few days trying to figure this out. thanks :)
