Hi everyone! My daughter is now developing an interest in LEGO and we want to foster that interest by getting her a base collection of LEGO beyond just super specific lego set pieces. For this purpose, pick a brick seems perfect. However, there are thousands of bricks on there. Which brick types do you consider to be the most versatile to bring out children’s creativity beyond the basic 2x4, 1x4, 2x3, 1x1 rectangular bricks? Thanks for any input!

Seconded, get someone’s old bricks, preferably with mainly city/friends/creator themes and you’re good to start building your own things.

in my area/country theres only very few old brick sellers and theyre 1) overpriced and 2) 99% rectangular blocks.
