    It’s been this way since I was a kid. The cynic in me says it’s intentional to desensitize us to the police state.

    1. Cops arresting criminals.
    2. Detectives investigating crimes and arresting criminals.
    3. Lawyers prosecuting criminals.
    4. Hospitals treating victims and criminals.

    That’s easily, what? 70% of television? I’m too lazy to look at actual TV schedules, but god, it feels that way. The Law and Order shows ALONE.

        My guess would be, assuming nothing nefarious, 😉 They’re easy to write, cheap to produce, and draw an audience. So from a media perspective, what’s not to like?
