Russia does benefit. But it’s just very funny that he’s acting as if world leaders are completely abandoning him. Like in what world do you receive $200 billion in weaponry over the course of like 2 years and get forgotten about immediately? This warning is obviously meant for the audience, not the leaders. He’s really saying that if you care about what’s going on in Gaza instead of constantly watching news about Ukraine, then Russia wins
If I let my conspiracy mind wander for a minute, this could be the grand strategy to expand US influence in the ME. Getting RF military bogged down in Ukr limits responsive capabilities in the ME. I doubt it will work out too well, but whatever maintains the empire while profiting the MIC creates alignment of different interests.
I am beginning to think the opposite.
It was hamas’ decision to move, not america or isreal’s. Maybe they and their regional Allies recognized how taxing the Ukraine war has been on americas ability to provide support elsewhere. Not to mention the possibility that those 70% of munitions that never made it to the front lines in Ukraine ended up in Lebanon and gaza.
Israel has been directly or indirectly via right-wing settlers escalating tensions for the last 6 months or so. It’s very similar to the escalation of the Donbas conflict by Ukr forces before the SMO was launched. If you haven’t seen the maps of ceasefire violations by Ukr forces on the Donbas front lines in those days, I recommend looking into it. I definitely think US/NATO/etc are stretched much thinner than they will admit, but the strategy is all about proxy wars, so that doesn’t seem to be an important factor in their calculations. The Zionist neocons are basically running the show, so I’d imagine their geo-political assessments are not exactly based in reality. If they can ignite an Israel proxy war with Iran, they would be extremely pleased with themselves.
I think I give the powers that be a bit more credit than that. If you can tell this strategy is not based in reality, they probably understand that too to some extent.
Why start another proxy war when you are barely keeping up in the first one.
Why not do this in 2018 instead of that nonviolent march when america still had troops in Afghanistan?
I think this is not good timing for the west so I’m more inclined to attribute it to Hamas and Hezbola.
I could be wrong though. Perhaps they understand things so well and are so cynical that they are trying to drum up support more war time manufacturing and Americans like isreal more than Ukraine.
I think they are high on their own propaganda more than anything. Ukraine is going great for them. Have you seen the quotes from Lindsey Graham?
“This is the best investment for American security ever; Ukraine is a fantastic partner — we have not seen such a partner since Churchill,”
“We haven’t lost one soldier in the Ukraine war, spent less than 5 percent of our military budget. Fifty percent of the Russian army has been destroyed by the Ukrainians, so they would be at Crimea already if the administration hadn’t been so slow and given weapons,”
Lindsey Graham criticizes Israel for refusing to sell weapons to Ukraine
So they just want to expand US influence and direct dollars to USA MIC. Proxy wars do that extremely well in the opinion of these folks. The US political establishment is entirely pro-proxy wars. Realist US military leadership doesn’t seem to have as much influence on these things. The policy advisors around Biden today were big supporters of the Iraq Surge as just one example of how deluded these folks are.
I don’t think people like Lindsey graham are actually making decisions. He says these things and he may actually believe them too but the people actually scheming and planning are more aware of reality. I think the intelligence agencies are more informed than they let on and that intelligence doesn’t always go to congress.
I think the military command knows the situation with Ukraine as does the cia, nsa, and all the rest. I don’t think they would arrive at the conclusion that Americans are willing to sacrifice isreal to weaken Iran or whoever like they are for Ukraine.
My understanding of the proxy wars is it is not about money for the mic, they already have all the money, it’s more about keeping the rest of the world at conflict so our productionless economy can compete and the dollar remain relevant.
I think this is less likely to happen now that Iran is supporting Hamas and Saudi Arabia is not inclined break that agreement with Iran and China for the sake of America.
It would have been better if this hadn’t happened until after the isreal-Saudi Arabia agreements could be made which would put SA and Iran in conflict again.
Well there’s also the fact that half of US spec ops forces are “mercenaries” or “advisors” in Ukraine and unable to be “advisors” in Israel, that 80% of Israel’s munitions were shipped off to Ukraine to be destroyed by russian missiles & Iran has received massive funding lately due to their partnership with Russia, allowing it to develop more weapons and spread its network of power wider.
Oh also, tons of black market munitions and weapons made their way to Hezbollah, Syria and Hamas after corrupt Ukrainians sold them off.
I think its very linked. With Russia focused on Ukraine, there is less of a counter balance in the middle east.

America is very busy and cannot fight everywhere.

I guess time will tell how it ends up unfolding.

Saudi Arabia and Iran entering into economic partnership is bad news and weve been trying to deepen isreal/sa relationship https://www.nytimes.com/2023/10/08/us/politics/saudi-arabia-israel-palestinians-hamas.html.

It just points to good timing for Hamas.
