Hello,

it’s been a while since I started using Windows and tbh It’s actually not that terrible. I can do almost anything I want on Windows which I do on Linux. if we ignore m$crosoft shenanigans then it’s a pretty solid operating system.

From a functionality standpoint, I find windows 11 to be adequate. I like how Linux comes with edge and other things pre-uninstalled, and doesn’t have AI shoved into every crack or crevice. The final straw for me for windows 11 was finding out that if I wanted to disable AI from notepad, that I’d need to do so manually. I can’t be spending all my time in windows figuring out what they’ve added ai to and figuring out how to purge it out without breaking things.

Been on pop OS almost a year and never looked back.

Unfortunately it’s impossible to use Windows and ignore Microsoft’s shenanigans because the two are intertwined.

I was a very happy Windows 11 user. I genuinely liked Windows 11. Right up until they announced Recall, and Copilot, and that you weren’t going to be able to turn them off. I saw the way the wind was blowing and couldn’t flee fast enough.

Now I’m a very happy Kubuntu user. :)
