Interesting how they suddenly can’t find money to fund anything that helps humanity but they can invest billions of dollars in fucking defense-related AI R&D. Anyone with a brain can see that cutting agency funding will do nothing for the deficit if you’re just yeeting money at Alex Karp to make AI-enabled bombs or whatever.

I’m tired of the government pretending that the deficit actually means anything.

I wonder if we’ll get another month long shutdown with a pinky promise to vote on it that’ll be ignored again.

Democrats are such fucking pussies. That’s the one thing I admire about Republicans, they stick to their guns no matter what. They will do whatever it takes to fuck over a minority or steal from a charity or something, but at least they know how to fight.

It’s much easier to fight when you don’t care about what kind of damage it’ll do.

I’m not saying this to defend the Democrats, just to point out that Republicans have a massive natural advantage on this stage. I don’t think their success comes as much from competence as it does from being naturally aligned with doing harm.

Yeah, I see they play by an entirely different rule book. It almost seems like fundamentally by caring about something other than yourself, you are limited by a moral constraint.

By the way many Democrats have the same end goal as Republicans, to make and preserve as much wealth and power for their in-group. They are just nicer about it. But there is a small chunk of Democrats that are actually trying to get real radical change, but they’re being fought against by the other 95% of Congress.
