“Trap”. Some people (wrongly, in my opinion) think it’s a slur against transgender people even though it has been used for years for a common anime trope. There was a moment when the moderators of r/animemes decided they’ll ban usage of that word because they thought it’s a slur. It was a total shitshow and a classic example of idiotic redditry.
Ah right, I forgot that was a thing. Used to frequent r/animemes before but after that unilateral ban and real transgender people talking about how it didn’t affect them at all in the sub, they still went ahead with it. r/goodanimemes was the one that came out of this debacle and allowed it.
