It’s extremely dumb and I hate it
Should we object to them playing electric guitars? Should we object to recordings of Beatles tracks being available in digital formats? If not, what determines where we should arbitrarily draw the line about what technology is/isn’t okay to use in producing art?
For me, using AI to enhance a garbled recording of Lennon’s vocals doesn’t really cross a line.
I haven’t heard of this. Can you expound further?
It’s a track where John lennons voice wasn’t recorded well so they’re using ai to enhance it rather than completely ai generated.
Oh I thought they were making new songs. But this is cool
Is there somewhere to put this pitchfork? I was all ready to use it, then I immediately calmed down when I read further.
I’ll start the pile I guess.

Save that pile; you’re only one click away from the next “Get the pitchforks, boys!” Internet outrage.
Oh yeah. Don’t get me wrong. I think it’s cool that they can repair broken record using AI. Not cool if they’ll simulate long gone artist voice. And sacrilege if the artist is as iconic as the Beatles
They’ve done something similar in the past without AI https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_as_a_Bird
