The battery died in my remote outdoor thermometer and I don’t have a replacement at the moment, so I set the thermometer from my fridge outside instead. I’ll have to remember to bring it in before all the nastiness kicks in.

    This works well for calibrating the temp in your fridge. You just have to be mindful of the desired temp before you bring it back in. Too cold, and you risk freezing your refrigerated items. Too hot, and everything melts.

    Don’t forget to throw the thermometer in an ice bath from time to time to check its calibration
