I was happy when Piefed came around but this changed my view a little. I want all federation to succeed but having these things be embedded in the code and not flags to set (even though you can turn most off) just strikes me as concerning. I’m glad users have choices though, but we will still call out bad choices, as many do when calling out shitty instances like hexbear or .ml.
I will not remove the source and my opinion on it. I’ve been nothing but civil and understanding in the replies to my post and it’s clear it’s an opinion with using “imo”.
Your “source” is not a source of information : It is a meme. It doesn’t create the conditions for discussion and debate. A meme doesn’t invite people to share their thinking, people react.
That’s quite different from someone explaining that Piefed has a set of rules that rate our behaviour. The mood and reaction is quite different from there. Do you notice it ?
