This is '70s audiobook music accompanying a dramatization of the Hobbit.

it gives alotta security and comfort for me to hear that kind of music. anyone know of more?

    I wasn’t aware the full cartoon was released as an audiobook as well. Absolutely the soundtrack to my childhood.

    Rankin and Bass (and their folk music stylings) were well-known in the animated world of the 1970s, and had a whole series of “Family Classics” that aired back then.

    Not all have songs written for them, but a whole playlist of their 70s animated specials is here.

    There’s a fun website that might help you out with this. Basically you feed it an artist and it’ll suggest other music similar to your musician. Glenn Yarbrough features pretty heavily in the soundtrack, so:
