One side fights disengenuously using language as a weapon while not believing in language, while the other side is too busy worrying about language to act appropriately. It’s a cause/effect bridge that can no longer bear the weight. You need to burn it to the ground and build a new system in its place, because you are on a sinking ship no matter who is at the helm these days.
