I’m looking for stuff on the amateur side, without ads, done for the love of it.
If you’re into games, Dev Game Club is a podcast where the hosts play retro games and discuss how they influenced what came after. Lots of times they interview developers after they cover a game, those are the best episodes! Their latest episode is their 10 year anniversary so there’s a lot of them
I just listened to one episode, I think I like it.
I’m glad! If you want a few recent episodes, I really liked the Portal interview with Chet Faliszek and the Gone Home interview with Karla Zimonja
I just listened to another episode and queued those that you mentioned. Yeah, I like this show.
The Worst Year of Our Lives, starting at season 2, when it’s just Scott and Drew talking about movies. I really enjoyed hearing their “best of” 2010 - 2019.
Rest in Power, Big Cat :c
Movies, and is that pro-wrestling? Now I’m extra curious.
Retrograde Amnesia. Hosts Chris and Eric get together to play and discuss old 1990s and early 2000s JRPGs in sometimes excruciating detail. If you ever wanted to hear two liberal dudes from Louisville Kentucky talk JRPGs, check it out.
Frak This Podcast. Hosted by Jessie Gender and Vera Wylde, Frak This Podcast cover the 2000s remake of the hit television series, Battlestar Galactica. Jessie is rewatching, Vera is watching for the first time. If you wanted to take in Battlestar Galactica for the first time, or just wanted to rewatch, this podcast is a great accompaniment to it.
Pod Damn America. Want to hear hot takes about the current state of affairs in America from two socialist comedians? Maybe not, but hey, if you do for some reason, hosts Jake Flores and Anders J. Lee have got you covered.
I’ve been thinking about rewatching Galactica, I’ll give that one a try.
Well There‘s Your Problem This is a podcast about engineering disasters and systemic failures, from a leftist perspective, with jokes
what’s all this then? it’s quite simple really - engineering goes not good, the ntsb investigates, and then we decide to complain about it. what happened? when did it happen? who was there? and most importantly - why?
we don’t just mean why did a bridge collapse, or why did a plane crash - how did the systems fail? what could have been done to prevent this? and why does this keep happening? we have no idea - we’re not the experts. but we can try to figure it out together.
