WordPress parent company Automattic has published its latest transparency report, calling out AI-generated DMCA notices as a new type of takedown abuse.

One company in particular filed 838 inactionable reports in six months, reportedly targeting content that doesn’t even exist on the platform.

According to Automattic, these automated notices are almost certainly an effort to maximize revenue.
