Passer by from all here. I don’t care about dolls but I’m curious about what “Barbie Diwali” is.
Is this “Mainstream Barbie” celebrating Diwali? Is it one of her friends but under the Barbie brand? Is it Indian Barbie? What’s the story here?
Mattel makes many different barbies nowadays. They identified by their faces (molds). This one is Lina 🙂
They call it “Diwali Barbie” on their website. It’s made in collaboration a clothes designer. I just liked the doll.
oh ok, so they’ve moved onto (created a parallel business off?) premium collectable dolls for adults who want to interface with the brand. Interesting.
They’ve been making collectible dolls for quite a while now. For example, my wife has Melody from “1 Modern Circle” from 2003. We’re not exactly Barbie collectors, though - we just like beautiful dolls 🙂 My wife likes to make handmade stuff for them and I like to create hybrid dolls.
