Who dat
Robert E. Lee was a (in)famous military commander who fought for the pro-slavery Confederacy. He’s often glazed despite being rather mid in terms of military competency, save for his rapport with his troops. He was always a prime racist piece of shit.
Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson was a military commander who also fought for the pro-slavery Confederacy. He’s often lionized by the same people who glaze Lee. He was genuinely… strange. One of those rare religious fanatics who takes the whole book deathly seriously, not just the convenient bits that confirm cultural prejudices. He died in a humiliating friendly fire incident, wherein a dipshit Confederate sentry officer identified him as an enemy spy, despite approaching the lines openly, on horseback, with his staff, and having already identified himself as a Confederate commander.
I’m an idiot
If John Bell Hood had enough sense to get his head shot off instead of his leg, he’d probably get lost-caused into a great General too.
I don’t know if even Lost Causers could paper over a failure like Hood! He could swallow ten pounds of dynamite and detonate it, and I think there would still be too much incompetence left to make a legend out of the remains. :p
