Hello People, I’ll be posting the first Message of the community! Let’s start with this: I think that the direction of Online Dating (OLD) is wrong.

Too many Tinder clone apps behaving like a casino with their addict users…

What do you think?

Another problem are the scammers. Been a minute since I’ve gotten back to online dating, but before if someone had 4 numbers at the end of their user name they were the equivalent of phone scammers.

Relationship casino, scammers, sex advertisements (a match isn’t a match but an opportunity to do something or have something done for you for sex).

…but the whole of online social networking is fucked. At least crypto is verging on DID, or self-sovereign IDs.

Like an anonymous account somewhere, only you create it yourself. The account gains a history, and your reputation matters, but it’s not necessarily tied to your real ID.

After self-sovereign IDs, there’s diatributed truat networks that need to be created. Trust people’s moderation, and see a filtered version of things - or do your own, and filter the people-results for ‘online dating’, ‘x seeking y’, and ‘positive ratings based on the people and groups I trust’ - or whatever other filters you want.

…but all of that needs to be decentralized, with monetization a subordinate factor to usefulness.
